About the race
CFJC TV Boogie the Bridge is a major community wellness event held in Kamloops, British Columbia. Known as Kamloops' largest celebration of movement, the event focuses on the philosophy that movement can lead to positive change in physical and emotional well-being. The event is characterized by its "sea of red," representing the collective participation of the community.
Participants can choose to run or walk across several distances:
- 1 km Kids’ Mini Boogie
- 5 km
- 10 km
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
The routes feature various forms of entertainment and motivation, including live bands, chalk art, and cheering stations. Beyond the race day itself, the event includes a broader "Boogie Weekend" featuring a specialized Expo and a boutique. Since its inception, the society has raised significant funds for local charities.
The event is designed for inclusive participation and offers a Teams Challenge for groups. It takes place on the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc territory and relies on a large network of community volunteers and local sponsors to support its charitable goals.
