Boogie the Bridge : Kamloops
Boogie the Bridge is an annual community run and walk in Kamloops organized under the CFJC TV Boogie the Bridge banner. The event combines road and community activities with charitable fundraising for local Kamloops charities and promotes movement and community involvement beyond a single day. To date the event reports over 38,000 cumulative participants and more than 1.2 million dollars raised before expenses for local charities.
The event program includes a range of distances:
- 1K Kids' Mini Boogie
- 5K
- 10K
- 21.1K Half Marathon
Along the route there is live music, chalk art, and volunteer support that creates visible spectator areas often described as a "sea of red." The Boogie program extends into a Boogie Weekend with associated activities such as an expo, training opportunities, and a teams challenge. The event operates with a volunteer team and lists a charity of choice each year.
