Dirty Feet Beat The Buzzer - Fun backyard ultra
Dirty Feet Beat The Buzzer is a backyard ultra event taking place on June 13, 2026 at Stake Lake on the Overlander Ski Trails near Kamloops. Participants run a loop of approximately 6 to 6.5 km and must complete each lap in under one hour to be eligible to start the next lap. This format provides an hourly rest between laps.
The event offers solo entries and two person teams. Teams are limited to 24 hours of competition; solo runners continue until one person remains. A cash prize of $200 will be awarded to the final solo runner. Sponsored lap challenges and small prizes are scheduled during daytime laps.
The course combines single track and double track with climbs, descents, rocky and sandy sections. The start/finish area has space for tents and personal pit areas close to the loop. Runners are expected to bring their own food and water; a light food station will be available at the start/finish and hot food and drinks will be provided for night participants.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Kamloops Food Bank. Custom race items are planned for finishers and for competitors who reach distance milestones, including a custom belt buckle for solo runners who reach 100 km and for teams that reach 24 hours.
