Dirty Dog Trail Marathon and Half Marathon
The Dirty Dog Trail Marathon and Half Marathon returns for its 10th year in the Boise foothills, held at the Military Reserve Flood Basin Dog Park and using the Ridge to Rivers Trail System. The event offers two distance options.
- Marathon - Ridge to Rivers single track and dirt road sections.
- Half marathon - Combination of single track and dirt road sections.
The marathon course includes large climbs and fast descents with extensive single-track trail. The half marathon combines single track and some dirt road segments and is presented as suitable for a first time trail race. Both courses have multiple aid stations positioned along the route and volunteers at those stations.
Aid stations are located at these mile marks: half marathon at miles 4.5, 6.8 and 8.9; full marathon at miles 4.5, 6.8, 14.5 and 21.5. The event notes that aid stations will be well stocked and staffed by volunteers. There is a $100 prize for the first man and the first woman to reach the top of the Hard Guy climb.
The event includes a shirt guarantee cutoff: entries submitted after Saturday, May 30 are not guaranteed a shirt. Registration closes on Saturday, June 6 at 11:59 PM MT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
