Holiday Hot Cocoa Hustle 5K
The Holiday Hot Cocoa Hustle 5K is a running and walking event held at Reid Merrill Park in Eagle, Idaho. The race course follows the Boise River Greenbelt pathway, starting and finishing at the Reid Merrill Park Pavilion. This out-and-back route is a flat course designed for those seeking a fast pace over the 5K distance.
Participants follow the pathway south from the park and head east along the river until reaching the turnaround point at the 1.55-mile mark. The event is chip-timed, and strollers are permitted on the course. However, dogs are not allowed to participate in the race.
The event features several amenities and competitive categories:
- 5K - Open registration for all age groups.
Hot cocoa is served to participants both before and after the race. Post-race hydration and nutrition are provided at the pavilion area. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in separate male and female age categories, ranging from youth divisions to participants aged 60 and over.
The race supports local running teams and clubs, including Girls on the Run Treasure Valley. Registration fees benefit these organizations, and additional donations are collected during the registration process. Participants 18 years and under are eligible for a registration discount. Bib pickup is available at locations in Meridian and Nampa in the days leading up to the race, as well as at the park on the morning of the event.
