YMCA Christmas Run
The YMCA Christmas Run presented by FORD is a holiday-themed athletic event held in Boise, Idaho. The race starts and finishes near Boise High School, located at 1010 W Washington St. This long-standing Treasure Valley tradition encourages participants to celebrate the season with family and friends by walking or running through the city.
The event features three distinct course options for participants:
- 1 Mile Reindeer Dash
- 2 Mile Run/Walk
- 6 Mile Run/Walk
Festivities include an appearance by Santa, who starts the race. Participants are encouraged to wear holiday costumes while they complete their chosen distance. After the run, refreshments are provided, including bagels from Blue Sky Bagels.
An awards ceremony takes place in the Boise High School Cafeteria once results are available. Prizes are awarded to overall winners, division winners, and those with the best costumes. Participants can collect their race packets the day before the event at the high school cafeteria. The first 1,000 individuals to pick up their packets receive a pair of Christmas Run gloves.
