Dino Dash - Dinah Soar Days
Dino Dash is an annual, dinosaur-themed community run held as part of Dinah Soar Hot Air Balloon Days in Vernal on August 28, 2026. The event takes place on Main Street at 100 W in Vernal, Utah.
The run covers a short course of less than 0.5 miles down Main Street. Check-in is held at Grand Valley Bank and medals are given to all registered participants before the dash. A live band will perform during the event.
A costume contest is part of the dash; prizes are awarded based on costume creativity, including a hot air balloon ride for two when weather permits. Participants must be at the starting line to be considered for best costume and prizes. Organizers encourage all ages to participate and request that parents running with younger children still wear some kind of dinosaur costume so that all dash participants appear as dinosaurs.
There is a separate Guinness attempt for a world record for the most dinosaurs in one place; that attempt occurs before the run and will follow revised procedures from previous years.
