Dino Dash - Dinah Soar Days, Vernal, UT
The Dino Dash is an annual community event held during Dinah Soar Hot Air Balloon Days on August 28, 2026 in Vernal, Utah. The event features a short public run that follows Main Street, beginning at the intersection of Main Street and 100 W and proceeding down Main Street. The running portion covers less than 0.5 mile.
Uintah County will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as dinosaurs in one place; the target number to beat is 600 participants. Participation in the record attempt is free for anyone who shows up in a full head-to-toe dinosaur costume. A paid registration option for $10 is available; registered participants receive a custom medal, a swag bag, and are entered to win prizes.
Check-in takes place at Grand Valley Bank and medals for registered participants are distributed before the dash. A live band will perform during the event. Costume awards include a hot air balloon ride for two for the best costume and additional prizes for top adult and youth dinosaur costumes. The event is described as family friendly and encourages participants of all ages to wear dinosaur attire for the dash and the world record attempt.
