Dino Dash - Dinah Soar Days
Dino Dash is an annual, dinosaur-themed fun run held as part of Dinah Soar Hot Air Balloon Days in Vernal. The event takes place on Main Street at 100 W Main Street, Vernal, UT, on August 28, 2026. The running portion covers a short course of less than 0.5 mile down Main Street.
Check-in is handled at Grand Valley Bank before the dash, and medals are distributed to all registered participants prior to the start. Participants who wish to be considered for costume prizes must be at the starting line before the dash begins. A live band will perform during the event, and participants are encouraged to wear dinosaur costumes; parents running with young children are asked to wear some type of dinosaur costume as well.
Costume awards include a top prize of a hot air balloon ride for two and additional prizes for top adult and youth costumes. The event also provides a custom race medal featuring Dinah, the Pink Vernal Dinosaur.
