Dickson Olympic and Sprint Triathlon and 5k
The event is hosted at Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson, Tennessee, with swim segments in Acorn Lake. Multiple race options are offered, including Olympic and Sprint triathlon formats, aquabike and relay divisions, and a 5 km Run/Walk added for this year. Participants receive event apparel; triathlon entrants receive custom shirts and socks, and 5 km participants receive a T shirt and finisher medal.
Course notes: the swim is in a lake with no current and no large swells. The bike course is described as flat to hilly. The run is an out and back course with aid and water stations along the route. Water temperature is expected in the lower 80s degrees Fahrenheit on race day and an official reading will be taken race morning; USAT wetsuit legal temperature is 78 degrees or lower.
Distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 0.5 mile swim, 17 mile bike, 5 km run
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- 5 km Run Walk: 5 km
Awards and rules: overall awards for the top three male and female finishers and top male and female masters are provided, plus 1st through 3rd place awards in multiple five year age groups. All triathlon events are USA Triathlon sanctioned and require a one day or annual USAT license.
