Dickson Olympic and Sprint Triathlon
The event is a USA Triathlon sanctioned set of Olympic and Sprint distance races hosted at Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson, Tennessee. Multiple divisions are offered including individual, relay, aquabike, and category divisions such as Clydesdale and Athena.
- Olympic distance: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint distance: 0.5 mile swim, 17 mile bike, 5 km run
The swim takes place in Acorn Lake, which has no current and no large swells. The bike course is described as flat to hilly. The run is an out-and-back course with aid and water stations along the route.
Awards include overall top three male and female finishers, top three male and female masters, and first through third in multiple male and female age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. Custom shirts and socks are provided for participants.
Registration fees vary by event and range from $70 to $165. All participants must hold a USA Triathlon one-day license or annual membership; one-day and youth fees are available. The organizer has a no refund policy; event insurance is offered during registration and athlete transfers are allowed up to two weeks before the event for a fee.
