Bell Ringer Trail Run
The Bell Ringer Trail Run is held at Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, Tennessee and offers trail race options over multiple distances. The event uses the park trail network and highlights local state park resources. Proceeds benefit Friends of Montgomery Bell State Park.
Distances:
- 50K : approximately 31 miles, includes the longest loop of park trails.
- 25K : approximately 15 miles on park trails.
- 15K : approximately 9 miles avoiding the bike trail.
The course includes multiple uphill and downhill sections and terrain of moderate difficulty. A mountain bike trail may be used only on the day of the event; on other days that trail is for mountain bike use only. Route maps and elevation profiles are provided by the organizers and the course is subject to change.
Aid stations are placed about every 5 to 6 miles and will offer water and assorted snacks; the race is cupless, so participants must bring their own water bottle or hydration pack. Drop bags may be left for delivery to Aid Station 3 (mile 8.8, 15.1, and 29.8).
For the 50K there are a series of hard cutoff points at specific mile markers; runners who miss these cutoffs will be removed from the course and provided transportation back to the inn. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance; awards are made from park wood and all finishers receive medals.
Packet pickup takes place in the conference center the day before and the morning of the event. The event has a published refund and bib-transfer policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
