Event overview
Atheon is the first Last Rucker Standing endurance event, held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2150 Sams Creek Road in Ashland City, TN. The event runs concurrently with the Music City Ultra. The format repeats a fixed lap until only one competitor remains; the final competitor must complete one last lap to claim victory. The event draws its name from Greek mythological imagery.
Course, format and rules
Each lap is approximately 2.5 miles with about 800 feet of elevation gain. Competitors must complete each lap within a one-hour time limit. New evolutions start every hour, and anyone not back inside the Start/Finish corral before the next whistle receives a DNF. If no one returns in time, there is no winner. A visible timing clock and corral officials will track progress by bib number.
Competitors use assigned 10'×10' canopy spaces in a roped-off staging area. Early arrival for camping and setup is allowed on Friday, March 6, 2026. Basic aid stations and restroom facilities are available, but competitors must be self-supported on course; no outside aid is allowed.
Mandatory gear includes a ruck with dry weight marked and verified: male 30 lb, female 20 lb. Prohibited items include trekking poles, weighted vests, plate carriers, and any non–back-distributed weight equipment. Course officials and volunteers will be stationed at key points.
