Diabetes Run for Life
The Diabetes Run for Life is a community athletic event organized by the River Hills-Lake Wylie Lions Club. The event takes place in the Lake Wylie and Clover area, serving as a fundraiser to support various local and national charities. Net proceeds from the event are distributed to organizations focusing on health and community needs, including childhood diabetes research and support, the Foundation Fighting Blindness, and the Special Olympics.
Participants can choose from multiple distances and formats:
- 10 km race
- 5 km race
- 1-mile Family Fun Walk
The event is designed to accommodate a variety of participants, from runners competing in the timed distances to families participating in the shorter walk. The 2025 edition was held on a Saturday morning in April, with activities including a post-race award ceremony. The River Hills-Lake Wylie Lions Club manages the event as part of their broader mission to provide community service and financial support to those in need within the South Carolina region.
