Día de los Muertos 5K Run/Walk - San Antonio
This event is an annual Día de los Muertos themed 5K Run/Walk organized by Huarache Turbo. It is scheduled for October 25, 2026 at McAllister Park, Pavilion #2, 13298 Buckhorn Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247. The race includes a costume contest for best Día de los Muertos attire and a family-friendly atmosphere with a post-race fiesta.
Race features include tech shirts, customized bib numbers, chip timing, handmade awards, and cash prizes. The event offers a revealed finisher medal and shirt; registration capacity is limited to 200 spots and registration will close when those spots are filled. Event fees are nonrefundable and listed as $35 Early Bird, $40 starting July 1, and $45 on race day.
Awards for the 5K are given to overall male and female winners and masters, with overall awards based on gun time. Age group awards are given in 10-year divisions to the top three male and female finishers and are based on chip time; duplication of awards is not allowed. There is a Best Día de los Muertos Costume award and packet pick-up details are to be determined.
A free kids run is offered with no finisher medals; only the top three male and female children receive awards. A limited number of kids shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
