Dia de los Miles 5K, Fun Run and Mercado
Dia de los Miles is a community running event held in District 56, Elk Grove, on October 25, 2026. The event marks its fifth annual edition and celebrates Hispanic heritage with running and cultural activities. The course runs through District 56 and welcomes strollers and well behaved dogs.
The event offers several distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile run
- 1/2 mile kids fun run
- 1/4 mile kids fun run
Participants receive event swag for the 5K including a super-soft tri blend T-shirt and a custom medal. Kids in the half mile and quarter mile fun runs also receive medals. After the runs, there are post-race snacks and a mercado on site featuring local Latino artists and vendors selling textiles, decorative items, beaded jewelry and hand tooled leather goods.
The event names the Latino Center of Art and Culture as its beneficiary. That organization works to foster artistic, economic and cultural development for the Sacramento region's Latinx community by presenting exhibitions and programs and by supporting Latinx artists, organizations and families. Donations collected at the event support that mission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
