Dia De Los Miles
Dia De Los Miles is a multigenerational event held in Elk Grove, California, that celebrates Hispanic and Latino heritage through sport, art, and culture. The event takes place at 9701 Big Horn Blvd and is centered around a community gathering that includes a running program and a traditional mercado.
The athletic portion of the event consists of several distances:
- 5K walk or run
- 1/2 Mile kids run
- 1/4 Mile kids run
Participants in the 5K and the kids' categories receive a commemorative shirt and a medal for their completion of the course. The event is designed to be inclusive of families, allowing both strollers and friendly dogs to participate.
Beyond the physical activity, the event features a Hispanic and Latino Art and Craft Mercado. This market showcases the work of local artists, offering a variety of handcrafted items such as textiles, jewelry, and leather goods. The event also serves as a fundraising platform for the Latino Center of Art and Culture.
All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, adhering to standard running industry policies. The event continues a five-year tradition of combining community fitness with cultural exhibition in a family-oriented environment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
