Devil After Dark : Sept 19, 2026, Lovell Canyon Road, Las Vegas, NV
Devil After Dark is an evening road running event held just before sunset and continuing into the night on Lovell Canyon Road at Highway 160. The event is on public land in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, under a special use permit. Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- 1/2 Marathon
- Marathon
All finishers in the Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, 10K, and 5K receive a medal. Awards include overall male and female places and age-group awards by 10-year brackets; youth age groups apply for the 10K and 5K. The marathon has a 7 hour course cutoff.
Course, aid, and logistics
The course starts at roughly 4,500 feet elevation and follows paved Lovell Canyon Road. Terrain is rolling with gradual uphill sections. Vegetation along the route includes Joshua trees, pinion-juniper, mountain rose, and sagebrush in a Toiyabe National Forest setting. The course is unlit; runners on the course after dark are required to be reflective front and back and to use a headlamp or carry a flashlight. Aid stations are placed along the course with toilets at several locations; exact station locations vary by distance. Parking is available at or near the start/finish on Lovell Canyon Road.
