Dettah Ice Road Run 2026
This is an in person event organized by Yellowknife Multisport Club on the Dettah ice road. Participants may run, walk, ski, bike, use a kick sled or roll the route and may turn back at any point.
Distances and options:
- ~12.5 km full ice road length
- Turn back at any point
The meeting point is the ice road entrance near Rotary Park and the finish is at the same location. Hot chocolate will be available at Rotary Park during the event. Participants are expected to track their own time and distance.
The event is non competitive. Entry fee is $20; participants aged 17 and under are free and a parent or guardian must sign the waiver for minors. No refunds are offered. If the event is cancelled because of weather or ice road conditions, payment may be used as credit for a future event.
Safety and preparation notes provided: bring a phone for emergencies, plan fueling and hydration, wear appropriate layered and wind resistant clothing, choose proper footwear, stay clear of wildlife, do not use headphones, and wear bright visible clothing.
