Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot - General Info
The Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot is an annual Detroit event that kicks off America’s Thanksgiving Parade. The event has been held for over 40 years and routinely attracts thousands of participants who often wear costumes. It is commonly described as "The Parade before The Parade."

- 5K Stuffing Strut
- Mashed Potato Mile presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
All participants receive a long sleeved technical shirt and custom designed medals are awarded to all finishers. The event is stroller friendly; pets and bicycles are not permitted due to venue policies. Packet pickup is available in advance during the two weeks before the event and also at the Huntington Place expo on the days immediately before the parade.
Registration for the 2026 S3 Turkey Trot is open. Runners may pick up packets for other registered participants. The event takes place amid the parade activities and draws one of the largest spectator crowds in Michigan. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
