Desert Peak Ultra, Oracle AZ

Desert Peak Ultra takes place near 36019 S Mt Lemmon Rd in Oracle, Arizona. The event schedule lists the 100K on April 10, 2027 and both 50K races on April 11, 2027. Registration opens May 19, 2026.

Distances

  • 100K: Summits Mt Lemmon and continues on desert singletrack.
  • Desert Sky 50K: Steep climb to Mt Lemmon summit, then rugged descent.
  • Desert Dream 50K: Rolling desert singletrack along the Arizona Trail with faster sections.

The 100K and Desert Sky 50K begin with a steep climb to the Mt Lemmon summit and pass through the ski town of Summerhaven. Runners move from desert terrain to pine and alpine sections, then descend and face additional climbs on the return. The back half of the 100K follows open desert singletrack similar to the Desert Dream 50K.

Elevation and time cutoffs are published for each distance: the 100K includes about 12,000 ft of climbing with a 24 hour cutoff; Desert Sky 50K about 8,000 ft with a 14.5 hour cutoff; Desert Dream 50K about 3,500 ft with a 14.5 hour cutoff.

Aid stations will be stocked with gels, drink mix, electrolytes, hot and cold food, snacks, candy, chips, water, and more. Onsite camping is available at the start and finish with toilets on site; the listed price is $35 per night. Volunteer information is noted as coming soon. The event uses the Footpath app as its official mapping and navigation tool and recommends downloading routes for offline use or exporting to GPS devices.
