Desert Peak Ultra : Oracle, Arizona (April 10 and 11, 2027)
Desert Peak Ultra is a multi-race trail event held near Tucson in Oracle, Arizona on April 10 and 11, 2027. The event offers three race options: Desert Peak 100K, Desert Sky 50K, and Desert Dream 50K. The start and finish are at Haycreek Ranch.
Courses move from Sonoran desert to alpine terrain on Mount Lemmon and the Santa Catalina Range. Runners encounter long climbs to the summit at Summerhaven, ridgelines with broad desert views, miles of singletrack, rocky ascents and descents, and sections of the Arizona Trail. The 100K combines the mountain summit with a back 50K of open desert singletrack; the Desert Sky 50K focuses on the steep mountain ascent and descent; the Desert Dream 50K emphasizes smoother, faster singletrack and rolling desert hills.
Support and logistics include fully stocked aid stations, on-call medical support, course maps and GPX files, and allow drop bags. Crew and pacers are permitted for the 100K only. Cutoffs are 24 hours for the 100K and 14.5 hours for each 50K. The event also features a festival atmosphere at the trailhead with music, speakers, and the option to bring dogs on leash.
