Course and race details
The course uses singletrack with long climbs, desert views, and pine forest at higher elevations. The route begins with a steep climb to Mt. Lemmon, reaching the ski-area community of Summerhaven near the summit, then descends and continues through additional climbs and desert singletrack. The final course alignment is pending permit approval and may change.
Elevation and time limits are specified: the 100K includes about 12,000 ft of climbing and a 24-hour cutoff; the 50K includes about 8,000 ft of climbing and a 12-hour cutoff. The Summit Challenge pairs the 100K on day one with the 50K on day two, totaling about 100 miles and two summits of Mt. Lemmon.
