Event location and date
The Desert Leprechaun 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk takes place in downtown Tucson at Armory Park on March 15, 2026. The event is produced by the Southern Arizona Roadrunners in partnership with the Tucson St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. A portion of event proceeds will be donated to the Children of Fallen Officers Scholarship Fund.

The 5K uses a flat, three-loop course and will be USATF certified and eligible for state age group records. The 1 mile is a single-loop course. Packet pickup is offered the day before at The Running Shop (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM) and on race morning at the event site until shortly before the race. Parking is advised outside the loop course and staging area; recommended parking is north of Broadway Blvd, east of 4th Ave, south of 16th St or west of Stone Ave.
Awards and participant items for the 5K include male and female awards for top finishers, masters awards, five-year age-group awards up to 80+, gift certificates from The Running Shop, a custom finisher medal, and race shirts while supplies last. All finishers age 21 and over may claim one complimentary beer at the festival with ID and the bib tear-off. The male and female winners of the 5K will ride in the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
