Desert Leprechaun 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk : March 15, 2026
The Desert Leprechaun event is scheduled for March 15, 2026 in Tucson, with the exact location to be announced. The program includes two distances: a 5K and a 1 Mile run/walk.
Organizers are securing a venue after the Tucson St. Patrick’s Day Parade was cancelled due to the closure of Armory Park for renovations. An update on the event location was expected by the end of the first week of February.

The 5K remains part of The Running Shop SAR Grand Prix. Proceeds benefit the Public Safety Charitable Foundation, Children of Fallen Officers, which provides scholarships to local children of fallen public safety personnel.
Planned awards and participant items for the 5K include male and female awards for top 3 overall, top masters, and top three in five year age groups up to 80 plus. Awards will include The Running Shop gift certificates and themed items. 5K registrants are listed to receive a soft race shirt while supplies last, and all 5K finishers will receive a finisher medal. A St. Patrick’s Day costume contest with prizes is part of the event, and themed goodies will be available for finishers.
