Event Overview
The 17th Annual Denver Veterans Day Run is a memorial event taking place at Denver City Park. This local tradition is held during Veterans Day weekend to celebrate service members. The event features multiple race distances and formats to accommodate different types of participants.
Course Information
The race routes are located within City Park in downtown Denver. Participants utilize the running trails throughout the park grounds. The event is open to runners, joggers, and walkers. Children are able to participate, and dogs are permitted to accompany attendees on the course.
Available Distances
- 5K Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile course for runners and walkers.
- 10K Run/Walk: A 6.2 mile course for runners and walkers.
- 10K Rippetoe Rucksack Challenge: A 6.2 mile race in honor of CPT Russell Brian Rippetoe.
The Rucksack Challenge requires participants to carry a loaded rucksack or wear a weighted vest weighing 25 lbs.
Participant Information
Those who register by October 25, 2026, receive a commemorative race t-shirt and a race medal as part of their registration fee. The event is organized by the Colorado Veterans Project, a nonprofit organization that focuses on supporting veterans and transitioning service members with career development and employment pathways in Colorado.
