DENFIT Winter Soldier
The DENFIT Winter Soldier takes place in Cape Vincent at Cape Vincent Recreation Park, 602 S James St, Cape Vincent, NY 13618. The event offers three distances and uses a flat, fast out and back course that turns at Tibbetts Point Lighthouse.
Distances
- 10k, single lap with a slightly modified route
- Half Marathon, two laps of the out and back
- Full Marathon, four laps of the out and back
Runners will have access to hot shower facilities and indoor space with light refreshments. Outside the park there will be a fire and music. A sheltered aid station at the lighthouse turnaround will provide water, food and toilet facilities. A Quick Drop Tent will stand next to the start for placing gear outside the building.
The Full Marathon is limited to 100 runners and total participation is capped at 200 runners. Parking is free and a short walk to the event area; attendees are asked to make a small donation to a local non profit organization. Given winter conditions, runners are required to carry a safety light or strobe and personal hydration is recommended. There will be no weather cancellations unless a New York State issued travel ban is in effect. Upon completion, each runner receives a medal and t shirt, and full marathon finishers receive the DENFIT SPEAR with a new design. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
