Event Overview
The Denfit Ultra is an ultramarathon event taking place on May 2-3, 2026 at the Buffalo Ski Center in Colden, New York. The event features two distances: the Denfit Ultra 50k and the Denfit Ultra 100k.
Course Details
Both races begin together at midnight. The course consists of a 10k loop that goes up and down the ski slopes. The route is not lit; runners navigate using reflective flagging and lawn flags. Headlamps are mandatory for all participants until 7 a.m.
The race format is based on completing laps of this loop:
- The 100k distance requires runners to complete 10 laps within an 18-hour time limit.
- The 50k distance requires runners to complete 5 laps within a 10-hour time limit.
Venue and Amenities
A large tent at the base of the ski hills serves as a basecamp. It provides food, bathrooms, and a gear storage area for runners between laps. There will also be multiple tents available for runner use.
Awards
All finishers receive a medal that is at least 7 inches in size. Special awards are given to the top ten male and female finishers in each distance, who receive a custom, special edition spear. The top three male and female finishers in each event receive additional prizes.
Additional Notes
The course involves significant elevation gain. Organizers note that natural obstacles, such as low branches or fallen trees, may be present on the trail. There is also a possibility of snow at the top of the hills at the time of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
