DENFIT 1776 - Cape Vincent, NY
DENFIT 1776 takes place on Saturday July 4, 2026 in Cape Vincent, New York. The event honors the men and women who founded the United States and features participants displaying American flags while running through the village and along the river.
The course begins at Cape Vincent East End Waterfront Park and follows a scenic route to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse. The route for one lap is a flat 7.76 mile out-and-back that returns to the start. Challenge entrants complete a second lap to cover 17.76 miles.

All participants must provide and display an American flag while on course. Any flag size is acceptable for the 7.76 mile option. Challenge entrants seeking the DENFIT custom spear must carry a 3x5 flag on a pole for the entire 17.76 mile distance. The run is largely self-supported with a single aid station located at the lighthouse turn around.
Every participant receives a t-shirt and a medal and light refreshments are provided after finishing. T-shirt sizing is guaranteed for entries completed before 06/16/2026. As the event concludes, a Fourth of July Bike Parade at Rec Park takes place with children riding through town carrying flags. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
