DENFIT 1776 - Cape Vincent, NY
DENFIT 1776 takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Cape Vincent East End Waterfront Park in Cape Vincent, NY. The event offers two distance options and follows a course through the village of Cape Vincent and along the river to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse. The 7.76 mile course is an out-and-back route that returns to the start.
Events, rules, and logistics
- 7.76 mi - one out-and-back lap to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse.
- 17.76 mi - two laps (1776 Challenge).
All participants must display an American flag while running the 7.76 mile course. Challenge entrants who wish to earn the DENFIT CUSTOM SPEAR must carry a 3x5 flag on a pole for the entire 17.76 mile distance. The run is largely self-supported with one aid station located at the lighthouse turnaround. Every participant receives a t-shirt and a medal and is provided light refreshments after finishing. To guarantee t-shirt sizing, registration must be completed before 06/16/2026.
