Event overview
DENFIT 1776 takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Cape Vincent, NY. The event is based at Cape Vincent East End Waterfront Park and follows a route through the village and along the river to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse. The organizer describes the course as flat and returning to the start line after the lighthouse turnaround. The event offers two distance options.

Every participant receives a t-shirt and a medal and is provided light refreshments after completing the course. To guarantee t-shirt sizing, registration must be completed before 06/16/2026.
Course, requirements, and support
The run is largely self-supported with one aid station located at the lighthouse turnaround. All runners must provide and display an American flag while running the 7.76 mile lap. Challenge participants must carry a 3x5 flag on a pole for the entire 17.76 mile distance to be eligible for the event’s DENFIT custom spear. After the run, a Fourth of July Bike Parade will take place at Rec Park, featuring over a hundred children carrying flags through town.
