About the race
DENFIT 1776, held in Cape Vincent, New York, offers two patriotic run options: a 7.76-mile out-and-back and a 17.76-mile Challenge, starting at Cape Vincent East End Waterfront Park. The flat, scenic course winds through the village along the river to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse and back. Runners participate by displaying an American flag, with larger flags required for the Challenge (a 3x5 flag on a pole).
The largely self-supported event includes one aid station, a commemorative t-shirt and medal, and light refreshments. Afterward, the town hosts a Fourth of July Bike Parade, celebrating American heritage with grit and perseverance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
