Delaware Distance Classic 15K
The Delaware Distance Classic is a road race weekend organized by the Pike Creek Valley Running Club and presented by Delaware Running Company. The event offers a 15K race and a 5K race, both using the same start and finish location at Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park on the Wilmington Riverfront.
Distances
- 15K: USATF Mid-Atlantic Championship race, participant cap 250
- 5K: participant cap 100, out-and-back course sharing the same start and finish
The 15K carries a total of $1,100 in prize money with male and female open prizes of $200, $150, and $100, plus a master prize of $100. There is a no double-dipping policy; a master who finishes first or second overall receives the open prize. The 15K also awards 10-year age group places for 1st through 3rd. The 5K awards 10-year age group places for 1st and 2nd.
Both races include a Delaware Distance Classic unisex short sleeve shirt (shirt colors TBD) and post-race refreshments. The 15K has USATF course certification listed as TBD. The race returned to the Wilmington Riverfront in 2019 after four years in Delaware City.
