Delaware Distance Classic 15K
The Delaware Distance Classic 15K is an annual road race organized by the Pike Creek Valley Running Club and presented by Delaware Running Company. The event is staged on the Wilmington Riverfront with start and finish at Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park. The race returned to the Wilmington Riverfront in 2019 after several years in Delaware City.
The event includes the following distances:
- 15K
- 5K
The 15K serves as the 2026 Mid Atlantic USATF 15K Championship and Grand Prix event. The 15K has a participant cap of 250 and offers a total of $1100 in prize money, with open male and female prizes of $200, $150, and $100, and a master prize of $100. Masters who finish overall first or second receive open prizes only. Both distances award 10 year age group prizes; the 15K awards 1st through 3rd places within each age group, the 5K awards 1st and 2nd.
Both races include a unisex short sleeve race shirt and post race refreshments. The 5K uses an out and back course through the DuPont Environmental Education Center and shares the same start and finish line as the 15K. A course certification number for the 15K is noted as TBD.
