Deerpark PTA Ranger Run
The 15th annual Ranger Run takes place on November 7, 2026, at Rattan Creek Park Community Center, 7617 Elkhorn Mountain Trail, Austin, TX. The event is organized by the Deerpark Middle School PTA and raises funds to support the teachers, staff, and students of Deerpark Middle School.
Distances offered:
- 5K chip-timed
- 1 Mile fun run (untimed)
Registration details note a registration period opening July 31, 2026, and closing October 1, 2026. Registration by October 1 guarantees a Ranger Run T-shirt. Listed registration fees are $20.00 for the chip-timed 5K and $17.00 for the 1 mile.
Participants traditionally include families from Deerpark Middle School, five feeder elementary schools, the local high school McNeil, and community neighbors. Historically the event has attracted more than 400 runners. Strollers are welcome.
Awards are given across multiple categories, including first-place elementary school prizes by school, teacher categories, grade-level places for sixth through eighth grades, high school, and age-group first places for adult divisions. Packet pick up is scheduled for November 5 and November 6 at Deerpark Middle School front drive and on November 7 at Rattan Creek Park near the soccer field, with specified pickup times. The event has a no refund policy; if the race is canceled for reasons beyond the Race Director's control, refunds will not be issued and race packets including shirts will be made available at a location to be determined.
