Deer Mountain Challenge
The Deer Mountain Challenge is a free running race in Ketchikan, Alaska that follows a street-to-trail route and finishes at the summit of Deer Mountain. The course begins at the KIC building parking lot at 615 Stedman St, proceeds along Deermount St. to Ketchikan Lakes Rd., continues to the Deer Mountain Trailhead, and finishes at the mountain summit. The route covers about 3.5 miles with approximately 3,000 ft of elevation gain.
Registration is free and open in advance from 7/16/2026 to 8/14/2026. The event takes place on 08/15/2026 in Ketchikan. The description provided by the organizer identifies the start location, the main streets and trail used, and the summit finish as the endpoint.
