Deer Creek Half Marathon
The Deer Creek Half Marathon is a trail half marathon that starts and finishes at the Deer Creek Dam Trailhead near Midway, UT. The entire 13.1 mile course runs along Deer Creek Reservoir on 100% dirt trail. The trail is well packed with few tripping hazards and is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. After the first quarter mile the course is easy to follow.
Elevation gain on the course totals about +970 ft. The course is divided into three segments: start to Aid 1 4.3 miles, Aid 1 to Aid 2 4.5 miles, and Aid 2 to finish 4.3 miles. Aid stations are spaced about 4.3 miles apart and will offer water, Gatorade, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and small snacks.
Registration tiers are Early $60, Regular $70, and Late $80. Late registration begins June 11 and closes July 10 at 11:59 PM MT. Same day registration is not available and the half marathon field is limited to 150 runners. Packet pickup is scheduled Friday afternoon at the Salt Lake Running Store and race day pickup opens early at the trailhead.
Participants receive a high quality race shirt, a custom locally made finisher medal, free race photos, live results, and a post race breakfast provided by Great Harvest Bread. Parking at the trailhead is free and there is no cutoff time for finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
