Deception Pass 50K Fall
The Deception Pass trail races take place at Deception Pass State Park in Oak Harbor, Washington on November 7 and 8. The event uses trails throughout the park, running near sea level, on bluffs and hills, and crossing the Deception Pass Bridge twice.

Both main races start at the West Point Amphitheater and begin with about one mile on paved park roads before moving onto mostly single track trails. The course includes rocky and rooty sections, narrow twisty trails, and short but sometimes steep hills. The route is marked with yellow and black arrow signs at junctions and confidence ribbons approximately every half mile.
Event details include elevation and aid station information: the 50K lists about 4,300 ft elevation gain and loss, four aid stations, and a cutoff window of roughly 9 or 10 hours; the 25K lists about 3,000 ft gain and loss, one aid station, and a cutoff of about 6 hours. The 1K Fun Run shows about 30 ft gain and loss and no aid stations.
Logistics note that a Discover Pass is required to park in the state park and that there is no overnight parking at the West Beach lot. Drop bags are allowed at specified aid stations. Crew support is permitted only at aid stations; providing aid elsewhere may result in disqualification. Volunteers are used at aid stations and other race operations. A post race gathering offers food, local beer and cider, and music at the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
