DC10 Track Fest
The DC10 Track Fest is a track and field competition held at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. This spring event is USATF and World Athletics sanctioned, providing an opportunity for runners to pursue official qualifying standards. The meet is organized with a festival-style atmosphere featuring live announcing, food trucks on site, and a DJ.
The event consists of several track distances:
- 5,000m: Open and select championship heats.
- 10,000m: Open and select championship heats.
- 1 Mile: A free race for youth aged 13 and younger.
Participants in the 5k must be able to complete the distance in 30:00 or faster, while 10k participants must be able to finish in 60:00 or under. The youth mile has a time requirement of 15:00 or faster and is limited to 30 runners. All races are time-seeded to create evenly matched fields.
Open races are conducted as combined heats for men, women, and nonbinary participants, organized from slower to faster sections. Select championship heats are run with women's races followed by men's races. Cash prizes are available for the top three finishers in select sections of the 10k event. The competition takes place on an outdoor track, with select heats scheduled to occur under stadium lights. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
