2026 DC Fall Classic 5k & Half
The event offers two distances running on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Georgetown: a half marathon and a 5k. Both are out-and-back routes on a light gravel canal path with minimal elevation change; the half begins and ends near the Potomac Boat Club in Georgetown and the 5k begins and ends at Fletcher’s Boathouse. Walkers are welcome.
The event awards chip timing, a finisher’s medal, and a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are published the Monday following the race. A virtual race option is available.
Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Fall Series. The Back of the Pack concept groups runners with similar, slower paces for series points; listed BOTP times are 12:00 for the half and 11:00 for the 5k.
The race benefits Mary’s Center. Water stations are provided - seven along the half and one on the 5k - with Gatorade available at some stations. Restroom facilities and port-a-johns are located near the start/finish and registration areas. There is no official bag check; items may be left at the timing tent at the owner’s risk. Packet pickup is available at the event; on-site registration is not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
