Day of the Dead 5K - Tulsa
The Day of the Dead 5K is the fourth annual Día de Los Muertos themed walk and run hosted by Mita’s Foundation with DJ Gato in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026 at LaFortune Park, Southeast Pavilion, 5501 S. Yale. It is presented as a family-friendly cultural event with music, entertainment, food and refreshments, and a festive atmosphere.
Participants can enter a 5K race, a FunRun, or take part virtually. Categories include general public, student entries (valid student ID required), and a virtual option. Early bird and regular entry fees are specified for each category; fees include an official t-shirt, finisher medal, race bib and postage for virtual participants. There are prizes for first through third place male and female finishers and a first place group award.
Proceeds support Mita’s Foundation projects in Peru, including clinic, schools, soup kitchen, pre-fab homes, humanitarian aid and a girls rehabilitation center. A portion of proceeds is also directed to a local children’s school running club.
Sponsorship levels are offered with defined benefits at bronze, silver and gold tiers, each including logo placement on event shirt and signage and a set number of shirts and medals. Deadlines are noted for registration and sponsor logo submission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
