Day in the Park 5K
The Day in the Park 5K is an athletic event organized by the Laurel Arts League in Laurel, Mississippi. The course takes participants through the historic district of downtown Laurel, with the start line situated at Mason Park on 18th Street. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions, operating rain or shine.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile (Fun Run)
A custom race bib is provided to the first 150 participants who register for the event. For those participating in the 5 km distance, race t-shirts are guaranteed if registration is completed by the specified mid-April deadline. Please note that the 1 mile Fun Run participants do not receive a t-shirt as part of their registration.
The event recognizes performance across various categories. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as winners in the Masters and Grand Masters divisions. Additionally, the event features age group awards for the top three male and female finishers in brackets ranging from 0-14 to 70 and over. Online registration is available, and on-site registration is also offered on the morning of the event at the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
