Mississippi Trail Run (MS50)

The Mississippi Trail Run is an annual trail running event held the first Saturday in March on the Longleaf Horse Trails in the DeSoto National Forest just south of Laurel, Mississippi. The event offers multiple trail distances and takes place over two days each March. Weather in early March is variable and can include a range of conditions.

Race distances include the following options:

• 100 mile
• 50 mile
• 50K
• 20K

The 100 mile distance was added in 2023. Each distance is organized with an overall time limit: 30 hours for the 100 mile, 12 hours for the 50 mile and 50K, and 10 hours for the 20K. The event relies on volunteers and receives assistance from the Mississippi Ultra and Trail Society, which supported the introduction and continuation of the 100 mile run.
