The Mission at the Cross Restoration Run
The Mission at the Cross Restoration Run is an annual fundraising event held in Laurel, Mississippi. Now in its 13th year, the event takes place at 324 South Magnolia Street and serves to support a local recovery program. All proceeds from the race are dedicated to providing food, shelter, and vocational training for individuals in the recovery program.
The event offers two primary distances for participants:
- 5 km run
- 2 mile walk
Participants who pre-register by June 21st are guaranteed an event t-shirt. For the 5 km run, awards are presented to the overall, master, and grandmaster winners in both male and female categories. Additional age group awards are available for the top three male and female finishers in several brackets, ranging from age 13 and under to 70 and over.
The 2 mile walk is a strictly non-running event with its own set of awards. These include prizes for the top three overall male and female walkers, as well as recognition for the oldest and youngest participants. The event also features door prizes for those in attendance. Registration is available for both individual participants and members of the Pine Belt Pacers. Late registration and packet pickup are organized the day before the event.
