The Route
The race follows the Dava Way trail from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres. The route predominantly follows the line of the old Highland Railway, offering a traffic-free, runnable trail. It passes through Anagach Woods at the start. The trail features varied scenery, from the Spey river area to moorlands and more pastoral landscapes. The course includes the Dava Summit at 321 meters (1,052 feet). It is described as fairly flat overall.
Points of Interest
The route passes several landmarks. These include the Divie viaduct, Huntly's Cove gorge, and The Breathing Place at Dunphail. There is also a restored shelter called The Halfway Hut.
