Route and key features
The route follows the Dava Way from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres and mostly follows the line of the old Highland Railway, providing off-road, runnable trail. Ground types include woodland, moorland and farm track, with a high point at Dava summit (321 m / 1052 ft) and a long descent toward sea level near Forres. Notable features along the route include the Divie viaduct, Huntly’s Cove (a gorge with historical significance), the Breathing Place at Dunphail, the Halfway Hut (restored shelter with solar panels), and two wood sculptures near the summit. GPX files and an official race handbook are published for the route; the course may be changed if required by external factors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
