Dava Way 50k
The event is scheduled for 7 November 2026 and covers a distance of 50 km. The route follows the Dava Way from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres and mostly uses the line of the old Highland Railway, providing traffic-free, runnable trail underfoot.
Terrain includes woodland, moorland and farm track, passing Anagach Woods and the River Spey near Grantown. The course rises to Dava Summit at 321 m / 1052 ft before descending toward sea level. Notable points on the route include the Divie viaduct, Huntly's Cove gorge, the Breathing Place at Dunphail, the Halfway Hut with solar panels, and two wood sculptures near the summit area.
Entries are limited to 300 runners with a race cutoff of 8 hours and an entry fee of £65. Competitors must be over 18 and have some experience of ultra distance running. Places are allocated on a first come first serve basis. Full route details, GPX files and an official race handbook will be provided to competitors prior to the event. The organisers note that the route may be subject to change due to external factors beyond their control.
Volunteer roles are used to support marshalling, aid and catering. Volunteers receive event incentives and a final gathering as part of event activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
