Route and attractions
The route follows the Dava Way from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres and mostly follows the line of the old Highland Railway, providing off-road runnable trail on woodland, moorland and farm tracks. The Dava section covers about 38 km from the Cairngorms National Park before a final tour into Forres to make the full 50 km. The route includes the Dava Summit at 321 m / 1052 ft and a long descent to near sea level. The course features local points of interest such as the Divie viaduct, Huntly's Cove, the replica summit sign at Dava, the Breathing Place at Dunphail, the Halfway Hut (restored shelter with solar panels), and two wood sculptures. GPX files and a race handbook are provided; the route may be subject to change. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
