Dava Way 50k

The Dava Way 50 km is a trail ultra held on 7 November 2026. The route follows the Dava Way from Grantown on Spey to Forres, mostly along the old Highland Railway line on traffic free, runnable trails. Terrain includes woodland, moorland, farm tracks and a long descent into the pastoral landscapes around Forres.

The line climbs to the Dava Summit at about 321 m before dropping towards sea level. Notable features on or near the route include the Divie viaduct, Huntly's Cove, the Breathing Place at Dunphail, the restored Halfway Hut with solar panels, and two wood sculptures near the summit and on-route.

Race administration sets an 8 hour cutoff, an entry limit of 300 runners and an entry fee of £65. Competitors must be over 18 and have some experience with ultra distance running. Full route details, GPX files and an official race handbook will be provided to entrants in advance. The organiser describes the event as suitable for runners moving from marathon distance to 50 km events as well as for experienced ultrarunners seeking a shorter ultra.
