Event Overview
The Dashing in the Dark is a running event featuring a nighttime 5K on February 28, 2026, in Canton, Georgia. The event offers three participation types: a standard 5K, a 5K-No Shirt option, and a Virtual 5K.
Course Details
The route takes place through Etowah River Park. The 5K course is an out-and-back design. Organizers note the North Georgia terrain has some hills. Parts of the course are well-lit while other stretches are very dark, so participants are encouraged to bring a headlamp or flashlight. Water stations are available approximately every 1.5 miles.
Participation & Registration
Participants can register for the in-person 5K or the virtual option, where they run their own route and submit their time online. Team participation is encouraged, with registration discounts offered for teams of five or more people.
Awards & Perks
All participants receive a custom finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top performers in masters (40+), grand masters (50+), and senior masters (60+) categories. Age group awards are presented in standard 5-year increments starting from 10 & Under.
