Event
The 2026 Dash of Doom Halloween Race is organized by Run Calgary and takes place on October 24, 2026, at North Glenmore Parking Lot O, North Glenmore Park Road, Calgary, AB, Canada. The event includes a Kids Race and race options of 5 km (walk/run) and 10 km (run). A pre-race Halloween Festival will run before the races and includes free face painting, games, crafts, photo backdrops, a DJ, and candy aid stations. Participants and pets may wear costumes; prizes will be awarded for best costumes, best group costumes, and best pet costumes. The winning dog costume will be featured on the 2027 medal and shirt.
Registration, fees and services
All participants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt, access to the pre-race festival, chip timing, complimentary secure bag check, and the chance to win costume prizing. Kids Race participants receive a finisher medal; 5 km and 10 km participants may add an optional finisher medal during registration while supplies last. Youth pricing is reduced: Youth 12 and under - $20 ($24.68 with fees, GST not included); Youth 13-18 - $30 ($35.45 with fees, GST not included). Prices include processing fees; a 5% GST tax is charged in addition to the listed entry fee.
The event raises funds for the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). Fundraising progress shows $121.99 raised toward a $15,000 goal, and the event has raised over $82,000 for animal welfare in the past ten years.
Transfers between distances and to other participants are allowed; online distance transfers are available before October 12, 2026, and participant transfers can be completed online until October 23, 2026. Entry fees are non-refundable except for participants enrolled in the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
