Run for Life 2026
Run for Life 2026 is the ninth annual event organized by CMHA Alberta and Centre for Suicide Prevention. It runs from September 6 to 13, 2026 and combines in-person and virtual participation to remember people lost to suicide and to raise awareness for prevention.
The Calgary signature event takes place at North Glenmore Park, beginning at the Weaselhead parking lot, and includes a memorial walk and a casual run/walk along a scenic ridge. Participants may also join pop-up events across Canada or take part virtually from anywhere by running, walking, biking, doing yoga, playing pickleball, or completing other physical activities.
Distances at the Calgary gathering include:
- 1 km Memorial Walk
- 5 km casual run/walk
Registration is open for individuals and teams; registrations of four participants or more receive a 25% discount when signed up together. A base registration fee is listed as CA$23.56 and an optional race kit is available for CA$10. Race kits contain items such as a race bib, socks, a resource toolkit, a ribbon, snacks, and a help card. Registrations and donations between March 16 and August 31 will be partially matched by a sponsor program.
Fundraising totals and partners are published for the event. The organizer shares event videos and participant content on its social channels and commemorates names and photos submitted by the stated deadline for inclusion in the event video.
