About the race
Dino Dash 2026 is a fundraising running event held in Calgary that supports the University of Calgary Dinos Track and Field and Cross Country programs. The event takes place at Foothills Athletic Park on Sunday, September 13, 2026, and includes race, youth and community activities tied to athletic development and team fundraising.
The event began in 2004 when two University of Calgary students created it to raise funds for the Dinos programs. Since then, organizers report that CA$150,000 has been contributed to provide scholarships, competition opportunities and uniforms.
Distances and formats offered include:
- Kids Track Event with running, jumping and throwing activities
- 5 km race with student and stroller categories available
- 10 km race with student and stroller categories available
Entry fees include a Dino Dash technical running shirt, an exclusive Dino finisher medal, a personalized race bib if registered in time, chip timing, and post race food plus a celebration with a beer garden. Package pickup is scheduled at Strides Running Store Marda Loop on the day before the races. Awards and prizing are presented after the races. The event also provides opportunities to donate to and fundraise for the University of Calgary Dinos Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
