Dartmouth Triathlon
The Dartmouth Triathlon returns for its 12th year at Blackpool Sands Beach on 7 June 2026. The course begins with an open-water swim in the clear waters of Blackpool Sands, continues with an out and back bike route via Slapton that uses one of Devon's flattest roads, and finishes with an out and back run along Blackpool Valley Road following a stream to the turn. A second bike drop transition on the other side of the A379 removes a road crossing used in earlier editions.
Numbers for the triathlon races are strictly limited to 350. Entrants must be aged 15 or over on 31 December 2026. Entry fees for available offers range from £65 to £90.
Race formats and distances include:
- Standard Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Standard Aquabike: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 m swim, 20 km bike
- Sprint Relay (teams of 2 or 3): 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
Event services listed by the organiser include a silicone swim hat and Sportiva water bottle, full water safety provided by Teignmouth Beach Surf Life Saving Club, electronic chip timing with transition splits, prizes, feed stations, numbered racking, medals for all finishers, and the option to camp on the beach for an additional charge. Saturday evening sea swims of 750 m, 1500 m and 3 km are also offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
