Dartmouth Triathlon
The Dartmouth Triathlon is in its 12th year and takes place at Blackpool Sands Beach on 13 June 2027. The event combines a sea swim, a circular bike course and an out and back run along Blackpool Valley Road.
The race begins with a swim in the clear waters of Blackpool Sands. The bike follows a circular course with one lap for the sprint distance and two laps for the standard distance. The run is an out and back route that follows a stream gently rising to the turn. A second bike drop transition on the other side of the A379 removes a road crossing used in past years.
Numbers for the triathlons are strictly limited to 350. Saturday evening includes separate organised sea swims with the following distances:
- 750 m sea swim
- 1500 m sea swim
- 3 km sea swim
There is an option to camp on Blackpool Sands the night before for a small additional charge. Included for participants are a silicone swim hat and a Sportiva water bottle, full water safety provided by Teignmouth Beach Surf Life Saving Club, electronic chip timing with transition splits and prizes, feed stations and numbered racking, and medals for all finishers.
