Dartmoor Prison Break

The Dartmoor Prison Break is a unique endurance event held at HMP Dartmoor, where participants aim to escape on foot and cover the greatest distance "as the crow flies" within a set time. Runners choose their own routes using only public rights of way, while avoiding wardens who attempt to catch them. The event offers three categories: 6-hour Absconder, 12-hour Delinquent, and 24-hour Felon, all for participants aged 18 and over.

GPS tracking monitors each escapee, allowing friends and family to follow progress. The challenging course across Dartmoor encourages personal pacing, with past participants reaching towns like Plymouth and Marazion. Medals are awarded to all finishers.
