Dartmoor Prison Break
This is an endurance event where participants aim to cover the furthest straight-line distance from a starting point on foot. It takes place over two days, starting at midday. Participants must plot and run their own route.
The event offers three time categories:
- 6hr Absconder
- 12hr Delinquent
- 24hr Felon
All routes must follow public rights of way. Every participant will be monitored for the duration of the event via a GPS tracker device, which allows friends and family to follow their progress.
There is a mandatory pre-event equipment check. All entrants must carry a specific kit list, which includes a waterproof jacket and trousers, a head torch, a mobile phone, a compass or maps, and emergency supplies.
A medal is given to all finishers. The event is organized by the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team. Entries are open to individuals aged 18 or older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
