The Magnificent 7 Mile Road Race
The Magnificent 7 is an annual road race organised by the Tamar Trotters running club since 1999. The event is based at Saltash Rugby Club in Saltash, Cornwall, where the start, finish, registration, refreshments and prizes are located.
The race is a measured 7 mile road course laid out as a figure of 8 through the country lanes and hamlets of South East Cornwall. The surface includes about 200 metres of grass at the start and finish, approximately 1 mile on pavement and cycle lanes on the approach to the club, and the remainder on undulating country lanes. Notable climbs occur near 1 mile and 5.5 miles.
A water station is provided after the first climb at 1.5 miles and is passed again just before 4 miles. Medals are awarded to all finishers. The event is part of the Cornish Grand Prix series and uses chip timing with a formal presentation of category awards.
Facilities at Saltash Rugby Club include a bar, food, changing rooms and showers. Car parking is provided in a nearby industrial estate, about a ten minute walk from the club. Entries for the 2026 event open on 8 March 2026 and close on 4 July 2026. Entry fees listed for 2026 were UKA Member £15 and Non Member £17.
