The Magnificent 7
The Magnificent 7 is a seven miles road race routed through the country lanes around Saltash in Cornwall. The event starts and finishes at Saltash Rugby Club, PL12 4HJ, and the course passes locations with views over the Tamar and Lynher estuaries. The course is hilly and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The race is held under the rules of UK Athletics and is part of the Cornish Grand Prix Series. The seven mile event has a minimum age limit of 16 and is restricted to 500 competitors. All finishers receive a large, uniquely designed medal.
Facilities at the venue include showers, toilets and changing rooms; secure baggage stowage; a licensed bar and refreshments; water stations on the course and at the finish; medical cover; and pre-event and post-event massage. Ample parking is available a short walk from the start but parking is not available at Saltash Rugby Club. The organisers describe the course as well marshalled and accurately measured.
Course records are recorded for the event, with noted best times for male and female categories from previous years. The event is supported by Beaver Teeth Services, an independent family run tool, plant and forestry equipment hire company with local operations.
