Dark & Dirty Nighttime 10k Trail Run
The Dark & Dirty Nighttime 10k is a trail running event held on November 7, 2026, at the Liederkranz German Singing & Sports Club in Reading, PA (143 Spook Lane, 19606). The course uses run able double and triple track rustic trails that are generally wider and less technical; runners provide their own illumination such as headlamps, flashlights or glow items. Organizers will mark turns with some glowing markers and provide one or two water stops with unusual beverage options.
The finish is at the Reading Liederkranz club, which offers indoor restrooms, a covered pavilion, post race food, and a German beer garden where beer and ales are available for purchase. The event includes a short sleeve cotton shirt for certain entry levels; a limited number of extra shirts will be printed. Entry fees differ by entry date and shirt option; there is no mailing of shirts or awards and no refunds. On site payments are by cash or check only due to limited internet service.
Awards include overall top male and female (not eligible for age group awards), multiple age group places, and Clydesdale divisions with qualifying weights. Prizes are given for the most illuminated runners. Online registration is required and a waiver applies. Minors may compete only with a parent present; runners under 16 must have an accompanying runner for the entire race. The event runs rain or shine and has EMS on site with limited night capabilities.
