Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot, Elmhurst (Thanksgiving Day 2026)
The Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot is an annual community running event held in downtown Elmhurst on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The event is presented as the 43rd edition and features a 5K fun run that benefits hunger relief efforts in DuPage County.
Packet pick up is scheduled at the Knights of Columbus Renaissance Room, 537 S. York Street, Elmhurst, on Saturday November 21 and Sunday November 22, 2026 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Additional packet pick up is available at Elmhurst University Gym, 221 Walter Street, Elmhurst, on race day from 7:00 am to 8:30 am.
Proceeds support a range of local organizations. Beneficiaries include Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry, Bridge Communities, Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet, Disciples Food Pantry, Dupage PADS, Elmhurst Walk-in Assistance Network, Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry, HCS Family Services, Immaculate Conception Food Pantry, Loaves & Fishes Community Services, Neighborhood Food Pantries, Peoples Resource Center, St. Pius and St. Vincent DePaul, The Outreach House, United Community Concerns Association, Wayne Township Food Pantry & Senior Services, and West Suburban Community Pantry.
The event is organized by the Dan Gibbons Foundation. To date the foundation reports nearly $5 million donated, more than four million meals provided, and a focus on keeping funds within DuPage County.
