Damian Henning Suicide Prevention Annual 5k Run/1 Mile Walk
This event is an annual community run and walk held in Wakeman, Ohio. It takes place in memory of a local high school junior who died by suicide in 2019. Proceeds are used to send interested students to suicide prevention education seminars.

Registration has a fee of $20 and opens and closes on specific dates. Shirt pickup is available at the Wakeman Fire Department on the morning of the event. Awards include trophies and $50 gift cards for the first place female and first place male finishers.
Medals are awarded across many age categories, including 11 and under, 12 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over. A top Wakeman Firefighter award is also listed.
Sponsors and community partners named for the event include the Wakeman Fire Department, Wakeman Police Department, Red Caps, Spencer Signs and Graphics LLC, Dollar General, Sheri's Coffee, Cream of the Crop Ice Cream, and Second Sole Medina.
