Dam Yeti 50
The Dam Yeti is a point to point ultra on the Virginia Creeper Trail with extended downhill sections through National Forest and a town stretch into Damascus. The route includes an initial 9.8 miles of sustained downhill, followed by about 6.9 miles into the mountain town of Damascus, and a noted broken Pepsi vending machine between Damascus and Alvarado. Major finishes are at Sweetbay Brewing Co. in Abingdon and The Meadows in Abingdon for the Pepsi Challenge 25K.
Distances
- 50 miles out and back with pacer pickup option.
- 55K point to point finishing in Abingdon.
- 25K Pepsi Challenge starting near the Pepsi machine.
The 50 Miler and 55K share the same finish area at Sweetbay Brewing Co. The 50 Miler is run as an out and back, while the 55K is a single direction course. The Pepsi Challenge 25K takes place the day after the main events and offers a special award for those who complete the Saturday and Sunday races.
Logistics note that the event is cupless and requires a hydration pack or bottles, offers a morning shuttle from the Abingdon trailhead, permits self-drop at the start, and provides crew access points. Chip timing is provided by Zen Arcade Timing. Registration for the From Start to Heart series opens November 26, 2026; one series registration for three races is listed at $450 and the series is limited to 50 entrants.
