Dam 09 Triathlon - San Antonio, TX
The Dam 09 Triathlon on August 15, 2026, is a sprint-format triathlon held at Alamo Heights Swimming Pool, 250 Viesca, San Antonio, TX 78209. The event uses the pool for the swim and local streets and park dam for the bike and run courses.
Distances:
- 400 m pool swim (in a 50 m pool)
- 9 mile bike course, three loops through shaded streets and across the Olmos Park Dam
- 4 km out-and-back run
The race is USAT sanctioned. Clip-on aero bars are allowed because the event is non-drafting. A bicycle helmet with a secured chin strap is mandatory; skate helmets and e-bikes are not allowed. All athletes must hold a current USAT membership or purchase a one-day pass during registration. The race is seeded by estimated swim time.
Categories include Sprint Triathlon, Aqua/Bike, Bike/Run, 2-person relay, and 3-person relay. Awards are given for overall male and female, masters overall, relays, and 1st through 3rd in age groups. Age group is determined by the competitor’s age on December 31, 2025. Field size is limited to 400 participants. Packet pickup is scheduled on the days prior to the event at local locations and is also available on race morning. No refunds are offered; transfers must follow the registration site's procedures.
