Dam 09 Triathlon : San Antonio, Texas
The Dam 09 Triathlon is scheduled for August 15, 2026 at Alamo Heights Swimming Pool, 250 Viesca, San Antonio, TX 78209. The event is USAT sanctioned and entries are capped at 400 participants. Participants must be 13 years or older and must hold a current USAT membership or purchase a one-day pass during registration.
The race format includes a pool swim, a multi-loop bike course, and an out-and-back run. Distances:
- 400 m pool swim
- 9 miles bike course (three loops through Alamo Heights and across the Olmos Park Dam)
- 4 km run out-and-back
This is a non-drafting event; clip-on aero bars are allowed. E-bikes are not permitted. A properly fitted bicycle helmet with chin strap is mandatory and bicycles must be in safe working condition before the event. Participants are seeded by estimated swim time.
Categories offered include Sprint Triathlon, Aqua/Bike, Bike/Run, 2-person relay, 3-person relay, and virtual options. Awards are given overall and by age group, with age determined by age on December 31, 2025. The event provides finisher medals and gender-specific technical shirts, and finish-area refreshments include food and beverages.
