About the race
Dam 09 Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned sprint triathlon at Alamo Heights Swimming Pool in San Antonio, Texas. The swim takes place in the 50 meter pool, the bike course follows shaded streets of Alamo Heights and crosses the Olmos Park Dam, and the run is an out-and-back route that finishes next to Kellyanne Park. The race is seeded by estimated swim time.
Equipment and safety rules include a mandatory bicycle helmet with chin strap, prohibition of e-bikes, and a requirement that bikes be in good working condition. This is a non-drafting event; clip-on aero bars are permitted. All athletes must have a current USAT membership or purchase a 1-day pass during registration.

Awards are given overall and by age group, with separate categories for masters and relays. Age group divisions use age on December 31, 2026. Every finisher receives a medal and a gender-specific technical shirt. Food and beverage options at the finish include rehydration, beer, mimosas, iced coffee and food. Packet pick-up is available at Crossroad Bikes and at Kellyanne Park. Registration options include individual sprint triathlon, Aqua/Bike, Bike/Run, Virtual, and 2- or 3-person relays.
