Daily News Press Run - Galveston
The Daily News Press Run takes place in Galveston on Saturday, October 31, 2026, with courses that start and finish at The Daily News building at 8522 Teichman Road. The event includes certified Galveston Causeway courses and a separate kids race, plus family-oriented activities and on-site vendors.

The event uses professional chip timing and timing chips are attached to participant bibs. There is a replacement fee for lost bibs, bibs must be worn on the front of the shirt and are non-transferable. The 5K and 10K courses follow the causeway to an exit at Tiki Island, then return along the same route.
Amenities and programming include a Kid's Zone with bouncy houses, arts and crafts, and face painting; a book character costume contest with prizes for children and adults judged by a panel; dozens of vendor booths; music; food; and finisher medals for all participants. Awards include overall and age division placements for the 5K and 10K and medals for 1K participants.
Parking is organized at a nearby Target lot with shuttle service to the event. A bag drop service is available for a nominal donation to the Newspapers in Education program, which the Press Run supports by providing classroom resources and teacher access to the program.
