Daily News Press Run - Galveston
The 15th annual Daily News Press Run in Galveston is set for October 31, 2026 at 8522 Teichman Rd, Galveston, TX 77554. The event supports the Newspapers In Education program (NIE), which provides newspaper-based classroom resources to develop reading comprehension, critical thinking, and a better understanding of how current events relate to the classroom. The program currently has a waiting list of teachers who want to join.

- Virtual 10K : 6.2 Miles
- Race from Pillow : 3.1 Miles (donation with shirt)
- Donation Only
The 5K and 10K courses are certified Galveston Causeway routes. The event program features a book character costume contest divided into children and adult categories; a panel will judge entries and local merchants donate the prizes. Dozens of vendor booths, music, and food are part of the event setup. Bag drop is available at the information station for a $5 donation to the Newspapers In Education program.
Runners' parking is provided at Target Parking Lot, 6128 Broadway, Galveston, TX 77551, and shuttle buses will operate to serve the venue. A 10% bundle discount applies when registering for both Daily News Press Run events: Texas City on May 23, 2026 and Galveston on October 31, 2026.
