Event Overview

Cymoedd Sir Fynwy is a long-distance walking and running event organized by the South Wales LDWA. It takes place from 18th to 19th April 2026, starting and finishing at The Girl Guide Hall in Abergavenny. A free car park is available half a mile away at Byfield Lane Car Park.

Course Details

The route explores the heart of the Black Mountains, including landmarks such as Deri, Loxidge Tump, and Skirrid via Cwmyoy, Llanthony, and Pandy. It then goes through the World Heritage Site landscape above Blaenavon and finishes along the Monmouthshire & Brecon canal. The event incorporates sections of the cancelled Y 100 Sir Fynwy and the classic Valleys 100 route.

Practical Information

The event has staggered starts: walkers at 10:00 and fast walkers/runners at 11:00 on Saturday. There are time limits: 50 miles by 10:00 on Sunday, 30 miles by 23:59 on Saturday, and 20 miles by 19:00 on Saturday. Entry fees vary based on distance and LDWA membership status. Entry limits are set at 135 for the 50 miles, 50 for the 30 miles, and 65 for the 20 miles. Entries open on 1st October 2025 and close on 31st March 2026.
