Cymoedd Sir Fynwy

Cymoedd Sir Fynwy is an LDWA South Wales organised mountain event taking place on 18 and 19 April 2026 in the Abergavenny area. The event base is The Girl Guide Hall at Fairfield Car Park, Abergavenny NP7 5TR. A free car park is available about half a mile away at Byfield Lane Car Park, Tudor Street.

Courses are offered in multiple distances:

  • 50 miles
  • 30 miles
  • 20 miles

The routes explore the Black Mountains and the Forgotten Landscape above Blaenavon, which is part of a World Heritage landscape. The event includes sections of the cancelled Y 100 Sir Fynwy and parts of the Valleys 100 route. Notable terrain and features on the courses include climbs such as Deri, Loxidge Tump and Skirrid, and passages via Cwmyoy, Llanthony and Pandy. Later sections pass through Blaenavon country and Coity Mountain before finishing along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal.

Entries opened on 1 October 2025 and closed on 31 March 2026. Entry limits were set per course and fees differed for LDWA members and non members. The organiser is LDWA South Wales. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
