CVRR Nautical Days 4 Miler Foot Race - 56th running
The Nautical Days 4 Miler is held annually in downtown Comox on BC Day. This is the 56th running and is described as the oldest continually held running race on Vancouver Island. The event's central area is around Comox Avenue and Port Augusta.
The distance is 4 miles (6.4 km). The route follows rolling streets with views of the Salish Sea and the Beaufort Mountain Range. Butchers Road is a wooded stretch lined with Douglas fir, pine and other native species. The course finishes on a gradual downhill grade.
Registration is online only and closes August 2. Bib pick up is available on Sunday, August 2 at Race Central (Comox Avenue and Port Augusta). The posted registration fees, including mandatory charges, are CA$18.66 for adults and CA$13.14 for youth. Under-12 participants must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Awards include overall top male and female and ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places by age category. Post race refreshments and water are provided in the finish area. Roads are not closed to traffic during the event, so participants must follow signage and course marshals. Headphones and other listening devices are prohibited and may result in disqualification. Dogs and strollers are not permitted and walkers cannot be accommodated on this course. Registrants are eligible for draw prizes from local sponsors and must be present to win.
