Event overview
Cupid's Chase 5K Des Moines takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Principal Park, 1 Line Drive, Des Moines, IA 50309. The race is part of a national series that marks Community Options’ founding and is entering its 18th annual edition. Last year the series reported more than 11,000 participants nationwide. The event welcomes runners and walkers, including participants with baby strollers or wheelchairs.

The course is a certified 5K with professional timing and results posted immediately after the race. The event is fully accessible and pet-friendly; all pets must remain leashed. Giveaways include a finisher medal and a drawstring bag while supplies last. Trophies will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age group medals will be awarded to the overall male and female finishers in 14 age groups: 12 & under; 13–15; 16–19; 20–24; 25–29; 30–34; 35–39; 40–44; 45–49; 50–54; 55–59; 60–64; 65–69; and 70 & over. The event is held rain or shine and registration fees are non-refundable.
Registration pricing lists the 5K at $45 (price increases after February 13, 2026). To guarantee a race shirt, registration should be completed by January 1, 2026; shirts are available while supplies last.
Charity and sponsorship
The local race benefits Community Options, Inc., an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1989 and headquartered in Princeton, NJ, which provides housing and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
