Lace Up For Life 5K
The Lace Up For Life 5K is a running event on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Ankeny, Iowa. This is the third annual edition of the event.
The event is organized to support the Alpha Women's Center, a non-profit ministry that provides help for mothers, families, and the unborn. Registration includes an officially timed 5K result provided by True Time Racing and a participation packet with items from community partners.
After the race, there are activities for families. These include free food, awards, inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, and guided tours of the Alpha Women's Center.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 11, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fitness Sports (604 SW Third St). On the race day, Saturday, April 12, packet pickup and sign-up will be available starting at 8:00 AM at Ankeny Christian Academy.
The registration fee is a tax-deductible charitable contribution plus a $2.80 sign-up fee. Pricing follows a tiered structure:
- $25.00 for early bird registration until January 31.
- $30.00 for normal registration from February 1 to April 4.
- $35.00 for late registration from April 5 to race day (April 11).
- $20.00 for kids 12 years old and under.
Children accompanying a registered guardian in a stroller or child carrier can participate at no cost, but all other minors must be registered.
